SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:
Saturday, August 7:
All-Alumni Reunion Luncheon:
Noon, Russell Wright Alumni House and Conference Center. All classes will be recognized and commemorative reunion photograph taken after the luncheon. Cost is $18 per person.
Campus Tours:
2 p.m., Visit old and new parts of Slippery Rock University as we celebrate more than 120 years of history. Ride in comfort, visit former classrooms and dorms and learn what's new at The ROCK. Also open will be the Aebersold Recreation Center and the Alumni Center for group gatherings or reunions. Alumni can also visit the area sites such as McConnell's Mill and Grove City Outlets.
Pre-Game Picnic:
5:15 p.m., Cost is $15 per person, includes game ticket, special alumni pavillion seating, and picnic (hot dogs, hamburgers, beer, pop, munchies).
Slippery Rock Sliders Baseball Game:
7:05 p.m., Jack Critchfield Park, Special Slippery Rock University Alumni Promotional Night.
About the Slippery Rock Sliders:
The Slippery Rock Sliders are a collegiate wood-bat baseball team based in Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania, in the United States. They are a member of the East Division of the summer collegiate Prospect League.
When the summer-collegiate Prospect League was formed, Slippery Rock was announced as one of the franchise locations. Owner/GM Mike Bencic has acquired the Sliders name & logo rights, meaning the Slippery Rock Sliders will step up to bat again for the 2009 season. Coincidentally, another PL team has the nickname, the Springfield Sliders.
The next-generation Sliders will be managed by Chase Rowe, a Slippery Rock University alumnus and current head coach of nearby La Roche College
The Sliders plan to form a rivalry with fellow Butler County PL team the Butler BlueSox.
On Campus Housing Available:
Watson Hall (minimum of two people per room). Cost is $55 per person per night. Sleep in comfort in our luxury residence suites. Alumni can arrive as early as Friday, August 6, and stay as late as Sunday, August 8.
